Four students from Florida State University that attend the Panama City campus were involved in a car accident over the weekend. Two of the students died after their car went off a cliff. They were traveling to a camping trip when the accident happened.

Both injured students remained hospitalized in stable condition on Saturday, Blenman said.

“This is a terrible tragedy for the families and friends of these wonderful students, and for all of us in the larger FSU family,” Dean of Students Jeanine Ward-Roof said. “The students at the Panama Campus will receive our special attention in the coming weeks, with counselors to help them through this difficult time.”

The injured students are from Tampa and Alaska. The car fell about 150 meters down the cliff. The two students that died were from Panama and California.
