A 17-year-old girl from Brandon was killed in a car accident in Plant City on Friday night. It was storming badly at the time of the accident and the weather may have been a factor. A car headed eastbound turned in front of a car headed the other direction. They collided sending many people to the hospital with injuries.
Eight others were taken to hospitals with injuries after the collision, which occurred at 6:46 p.m. on Knights Griffin Road near Pless Road, next to a Circle K store.
The police are still investigating the accident and no charges have been filed. The cause of the accident is unknown at this time.
