In the aftermath of Nick Bollea’s (Nick Hogan is also known as Nick Bollea) wreck that has left his friend in critical condition, many are still wondering why this accident could not have been foreseen.

According to driving records sought by the local Fox 13 affiliate WTVT, Nick Bollea’s latest traffic citation for speeding occurred a year ago September, where he was driving 105mph in a 70mph zone. In February he was ticketed for driving 57mph in a 30 mph zone in Dade County, and in April Bollea was cited for driving 106 mph in a 70 mph zone.

In a report by Rides, Nick Bollea is portrayed as a wanton speed freak. He discusses how he was reportedly pulled over for violating the speed limit several times on the way from Miami to Tampa on a recent trip, while driving at speeds of over 100 mph. He also discusses with cavalier disregard for the law his gift of talking his way out of speeding tickets.

There have been eyewitness accounts of drag racing that have followed Nick Bollea as a result of his car accident this Sunday. His friend John Graziano remains in critical condition in the ICU, and the details of the accident are still under investigation by the Clearwater Police.
