Nick Bollea, 17, the son of professional wrestler Hulk Hogan, was released from Bayfront Medical Center with minor injuries after a terrible car wreck Sunday night around 7:30.

According to Clearwater police spokesman Wayne Shelor, Bollea and friend John J. Graziano of Dunedin were driving down State Road 60 in downtown Clearwater when Bollea lost control of his Toyota Supra. Bollea then veered off the road and slammed into the median, totaling the car and seriously injuring both himself and passenger Graziano. Both men had to be pulled from the wreckage by paramedics and flown by helicopter to Bayfront Medical Center for treatment.

Hogan’s son was released from the hospital on Monday, but Bollea is reported to still be by the side of his friend, John Graziano, who remains in critical condition at Bayfront Medical in St. Petersburg.

Hulk Hogan is one of Tampa’s most recognized celebrities for appearances on his VH1 reality TV show with his family, “Hogan Knows Best.”

According to Clearwater police, it is clear that the car’s excessive speed played a major role in the events leading up to this accident. No charges have been filed yet, and Clearwater police are still investigating. Witnesses allege that Bollea was drag racing a silver Dodge Viper when he lost control of the vehicle, according to published reports from eonline.
