It is often difficult to survive financially during litigation. For a short and fair discussion of the non-recourse loans against an eventual settlement or other recovery that are being offered to some plaintiffs, read an article from the Palm Beach Post. “Although some say the so-called non-recourse companies are as shady and unscrupulous as loan sharks, others insist they provide needed cash for people who have nowhere else to turn.” Count me as a vote against the loans. I continue to feel they impact the client, the attorney and the case in detrimental ways.
