Bryan Caulfield is one of my partners. He is also a magnificent trial lawyer. This month he has once again obtained an outstanding verdict in a Tampa Bay courtroom despite facing potential jurors poisoned and prepared to distrust injured plaintiffs and their attorneys.

Bryan and our associate, Lorrie Robinson, who assisted him at the trial, spent four difficult days selecting jurors and presenting the complicated facts of a claim involving significant injuries to a jury. The main defense was that the plaintiff sustained only a whiplash injury. Through careful and meticulous questioning of witnesses and persuasive argument Bryan won the minds of the jurors. They responded to the facts and argument by returning a $350,000 verdict, well above previous settlement offers and even well above the amount demanded in settlement before the trial.

I congratulate Bryan and Lorrie for their dedication and perseverance in the face of negativity and even open hostility to the compensation of accident victims. And, I applaud the jurors who kept their minds receptive to the persuasive facts that fully justified the damages awarded. I am proud to work with Bryan and Lorrie and proud of our jury system.

Bryan and Lorrie have filed a post-trial motion seeking to have the trial judge increase the total verdict to provide for certain elements of damage that were not compensated.
