A robotic lawn mower that will cut grass by itself has been recalled after testing showed it to be dangerous. Consumer Reports tested the Lawnbott Evolution and found that a person could be cut due to spacing in the safety shield. The recalled lawn mower was distributed by Koyodo America.
During a demonstration, Peter Sawchuk, of Consumer Reports, lifted the unit up, and the blade kept spinning.
“You can easily reach in and get a nasty injury. If you lift it up further, the blade will stop, but it takes several seconds,” Sawchuk said.
There has been one report of injury to a person foot from the lawn mower. The model numbers for the recalled lawn mower are LB2000, LB2100, LB3000, and LB3200. You may contact the company at (877) 465-9636 for more information.
