4 Million bottles of Johnson & Johnson’s Listerine Agent Cool Blue Plaque-Detecting Rinse have been recalled. The recall affects all bottles of the Rinse that have been produced. There are concerns that the product does not control all germs found in the mouth.
The company conducted a thorough assessment and concluded that the risk of illness in healthy individuals following use of this product is very low,” J&J said in a release. It said no consumers had reported adverse health events due to use of the rinse.
But J&J said the product could pose “a significant health risk to individuals with weakened or suppressed immune systems.”
The recalled product comes in Glacier Blue and Bubble Blast flavors. The rinse is used to more effectively brush away plaque by coloring it.
