A letter not sent: An investigation at the hospital revealed that the letter…had never been sent. The hospital said a temporary secretary had been unfamiliar with correct procedures.

EXCLUSIVE: NOBODY TOLD TAM HE HAD CANCER
He died in agony after results went missing for 10 months.. now his family want to know why
CANCER patient Tam Callan died after doctors failed to tell him his disease had returned.
Driver Tam, 56, should have been told in June last year the cancer was back.
But it was only 10 months later in March this year – when he complained of feeling weak and losing weight – that he learned the devastating news.
By then, the cancer had spread through his body. He died two months later.
Now his grieving widow Betty plans to sue hospital bosses and their GP over her husband’s death.
She spoke yesterday of the agony of believing Tam had beaten his throat cancer only to lose him to the disease.
